tweet.jpgThis children's crazy painting program from SouthPeak Interactive is another product drawing on the much loved Warner Brothers cartoon characters. In this one Sylvester and Tweety Pie take the starring roles, although there are guest appearances by other characters such as Yosemite Sam and Porky Pig.

It contains twenty images to colour-in and the choice of 36 colours, together with a good selection of tools to help out with the painting. These include a Paint Bucket for easy fill, different size brushes, and other more 'fun' implements such as a Spray Can, Paint Hose and a Paint Cannon that splatters random colours. If children get fed up with ordinary old colours they can also experiment and try out the textures; maybe give Sylvester a leopard-skin coat or turn Tweetie Pie tartan.

As well as standard images for painting this package includes a simple join the dots mode where numeracy isn't essential because the 'dots' are highlighted in sequence with a star instead of displaying numbers. More suitable for younger children, perhaps, who might also make good use of the paint between the lines mode.

Everything in this title is simple to operate and children's voices provide direction as they announce the use of each option/icon when the mouse pointer passes over it. You can turn off the voices if you want, although I didn't find an option to turn off the printer mode. It might be an idea to disconnect it before handing this package over to the kids, especially if they've run out of blank space on their bedroom walls. But don't worry, if printing isn't an option then there's always the 'save' mode so that nothing need be discarded. To restore a picture or display a gallery of personal masterpieces, just press the relevant button and they are all pegged onto a clothesline running across the top of the screen.

This package is lots of fun with cute sound effects and many different ways to spatter paint on a page. It also has a handy in-game help file if assistance is needed, although I doubt this option would be called up very often. I guess it would have been nice to have had one blank page to allow a bit of self expression, perhaps a mode where children could compose their own picture using various images and characters, but maybe the copyright licence wouldn't allow for this.
