Review by Rosemary Young (May, 1998)
This one's set to cheer a lot of little hearts as it opens and B1 and B2 come walking down the stairs. The graphics are about as cute and colourful as can be, and familiar as well. What Bananas in Pyjamas fan wouldn't recognise those stairs, and that blue, flowered, wallpaper?

It's fun time
This package is a simple activity centre designed for pre-school children, 2 to 6 years. Along with B1 and B2 it also stars the Teddies, Amy, Morgan and Lulu and, of course, Rat in a Hat; and each character has a catchy song to sing or a game to play.

The game is all mouse controlled and simply moving the mouse pointer to a character or to an on screen graphic will initiate a response, so it makes a good introductory computer game for children who have not yet come to terms with mouse-clicking ... something will happen no matter what. But, of course, experimentation is encouraged, and a quick click will start the ball rolling, or the balloon flying, a character singing, or whatever.

Apart from the main location (Cuddles Avenue) where the Teddies are very happy to dance and sing in turn, the game has three locations to visit: the beach, Rat's shop, and the park. Each location is accessed by selecting the relevant icon at the bottom of the screen and when the new screen opens the player is cheerily greeted and invited to play along. As well as very clear graphics that are not too cluttered, each location has a number of 'clickables' and a couple of activities such as exercises in imitating musical notes, matching shapes and building a simple toy.

Short and sweet
Like the TV show; this title is short and sweet. The characters, of course, are delightful and friendly and children will love them. However, the game doesn't have a lot of bulk. Whilst it will surely entertain players at the younger end of the recommended age group it could have done with a few more 'activities' for, say, the 5 and 6 year olds. Considering the gap between the highest and lowest ages, a couple a difficulty levels would have helped immensely. Regardless, Bananas in Pyjamas fans won't want to miss this ... those Bananas sure are charmers :-)
